Factory Visit in Istanbul

Three people looking at clothing items

Exploring Istanbul before the factory visit

Our second day in Istanbul started early with a plan to grab breakfast and capture some B-roll footage and photos in the city center. Istanbul’s streets, full of movement and character, provided the perfect backdrop for creative content. As we explored, we couldn’t escape the rain—just like the day before, we got completely soaked. After finishing breakfast, we returned to our apartment to change into dry clothes, preparing for the next big step of our trip.

On our way back, we noticed a clothing store with a coffee bar right below our apartment. Curious, we stepped inside to check out their collection. That’s when we met the owners of Aroe, two brothers who had built their fashion brand from the ground up. We instantly connected, exchanging ideas about fashion, production, and branding. More on these guys later—our story with them didn’t end there.

A behind-the-scenes look at fashion production

After a quick change of clothes, we grabbed a taxi and headed to Bağcılar, the district where our factory is located. This factory plays a crucial role in producing Studio Güler’s clothing, and for most of the team, this was their first time witnessing the production process up close.

Upon arrival, we waited for Melike to join us before heading upstairs. As always, we received a warm welcome. The hospitality at Turkish factories is unmatched, and nothing starts without a fresh cup of Turkish coffee. With our caffeine boost, we got straight to work.

Choosing fabrics & planning the next collection

The atelier was filled with creativity and craftsmanship. We checked out a few new sample pieces and explored different high-quality fabrics for our upcoming hoodie and T-shirt collection. Seeing and feeling the materials firsthand always adds a deeper connection to the production process.

Beyond exploring fabrics, we focused on fine-tuning the next order. We gave detailed feedback on our previous production run, making sure every element of our clothing meets the high standards we set for Studio Güler. Fashion production is all about precision, and these conversations are key to keeping our quality top-tier.

The future of Studio Güler’s clothing line

No visit to a Turkish factory is complete without Turkish tea, and after a final round of çay, we wrapped up the meeting. Three hours flew by, filled with exciting discussions and crucial decisions. With our next steps planned, it was time to head back to the apartment and prepare for the evening.

This visit to the factory reaffirmed our commitment to delivering premium fashion pieces that merge Eastern craftsmanship with Western style. Stay tuned for our next blog, where we explore Istanbul’s nightlife and the creative people we met along the way.
